“By assessing ex-offender needs, goal-setting, relationship-building and tracking, we assisted 62 new ex-offenders from July, 2007 - June, 2008 – and are still tracking 137 the best we can. As we add SCREEN partner sites tracking will become even more effective.

The bottom line is that SCM’s faith-based efforts, together with its collaboration with organizations and businesses in our community (SCREEN), only 7 of the 62 SCREEN ex-offenders returned with a new conviction.

That’s a recidivism rate of 11%, as compared to national
recidivism rate of 67%.”
