On Saturday May 9, 2009 at 6 pm, we will have our 24th Anniversary Fund Raising/Volunteer Appreciation Banquet at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, WT Harris Blvd at Hickory Grove Rd, Charlotte, NC.  Our keynote speaker is Rev. Mike Whitson, Pastor of First Baptist Church Indian Trail.

Pastor Mike has been married to Kathy, his childhood sweetheart for over thirty-nine years. The Lord has blessed them with two wonderful children, Kevin and Andrea.  Five grandchildren have been added to their growing family that are the light of the Whitson’s eye.

Since becoming the spiritual leader of First Baptist Church, the membership has grown from 400 to over 5800 and God continues to send many more.  Weekly attendance is nearly 3,000.

When you experience the dynamic and inspiring message, it will be clear that the hand of God is on the man.

Doors are open at 5:30 and the dinner will begin promptly at 6 pm.  Tickets will be $20.00 each; $160.00 per table, (8 to a table.)

Come and meet those who have been changed by the gospel.  Their transformed lives (Romans 12:1, 2) are an exciting testimony to the power of God’s Word behind bars.  Buy a table and bring some friends to the banquet.  We are looking forward to a great night of fun, fellowship, and an inspiring word from Rev. Whitson.

We are excited to report that the Governor’s Crime Commission has awarded Safer Communities Ministry a matching grant for our Second Chance RE-Entry Network (SCREEN) project.  When we raise $15,000, we receive $45,000.  That is a triple return on your investment in our ministry.

Tables of eight and individual seating tickets are now on sale.

We are asking businesses and/or individuals to sponsor tables for the banquet to help offset the cost of the banquet and allow ex-offenders, chaplains, law enforcement officers, etc. to be our guests at no charge.  Each table will seat 8 guests of your choice.  If you do not wish to fill the table, let us know and we will be happy to fill the table for you. Corporate and individual sponsors will be recognized at the banquet.  We must give the church our final count on April 23, 2008.   So please plan ahead!
