Volunteer Opportunities

Thanks for your interest in volunteering in our ministry.  SCM has implemented several ministry programs that help with the personal development of the incarcerated and ex-offenders and their families.  These programs CANNOT succeed without volunteers such as you who are interested in making our communities safer by helping the incarcerated and ex-offenders transform their lives.  Therefore, these programs offer many areas for which volunteer help is desired and needed.

The Life Skills ministry needs teachers and administration help.

Eagles Fellowships need moderator (overseer) and topic discussion leaders.

TC&S/SCREEN needs Life Coaches, help with goal setting, mentors, job assistance logistics, educational tutors, financial guidance/planning, social service help, spiritual guidance/discipleship, supportive friends, employment opportunities, and other areas.

Life Event sessions require volunteers whose talents and gifts are used as determined by the event organizers.  Logistic and other support are also needed.

Of course, all ministry programs have a need for prayer support as we want all programs to God directed.  You can provide prayer support for SCM and all its programs or for a specific program.

To volunteer, simply print out and complete the SCM Volunteer Application form and mail to Rev. Al Lewis, SCM, PO Box 556, Monroe, NC 28111.

A volunteer should read and understand SCM's Privacy Statement and must complete a Ministry Volunteer Release form.  If your volunteering requires entry into a jail or prison, you will be asked to submit to a background check as determined by each institution.
